West Limerick Resources is a local and community development organisation working to achieve positive change in the lives of people and groups in West Limerick.
Among the programmes administered by the company is the Rural Development (LEADER) Programme which aims to improve the quality of life in rural areas and to encourage diversification of the rural economy offering support under three themes – Economic Development, Enterprise Development and Job Creation, Social Inclusion and Rural Environment.
Additional support is also available to support artisan (specialist) food initiatives. ‘Artisan’ businesses are micro-enterprises with a turnover up to €2m, employing fewer than 10 people and producing food in limited quantities using skilled craftspeople.
This will be operated in conjunction with the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine. West Limerick Resources also administers the Back to Work Enterprise Allowance Scheme on behalf of Department of Social Protection.
